A couple of years ago, I designed a bubble multi floor elevator that used a bubble column to send different signal timings to the top where the signal was encoded into binary and sent via walls downward. Then, it used a block on top of the door of the floor or a magma block on the bottom of the door of the selected floor, depending on where you were to get you to the correct floor. It is insane to me how similar or exactly the same a lot of the components are to this design, especially knowing that I didn't post the design anywhere. Mine was a lot more compact and faster in the selection but slower going downward because of the magma block and without a lot of the functionalities as it was for a single-player survival world. Amazing work!
